I see a lot of people online, and have spoken with many, who are seeking advice and resources to get pointed in the right direction. That’s why I have created Coaching Film Hub, a platform to explore the various departments of Film & TV. To learn the different job responsibilities per department level, and have an opportunity to be connected to industry professionals to "pick their brains" with a chance of making a connection for future opportunities.
These are professionals I have made network connections with in over my 12 years working in the industry as both a background performer and Assistant Director.

Putting yourself out there to network with individuals when starting out can be nerve wracking for a lot of people. To the point it causes them to loose out on opportunities. Coaching Film Hub makes it easier to connect with a Coach for a CHANCE of landing job opportunities leading to broadening your network connections.
I currently have 4 available departments with coaches attached: Camera Department, Assistant Director, Lighting, and Costumes/Wardrobe.
To boost the post's SEO, be sure to include keywords in the heading and format them as Heading 2 or Heading 3.

Ok! How does this platform work? I think I have set it up to be fairly user friendly for both desktop and smart phones, and you don't need an account! I'm also working on making it an app, but that will take a bit longer.
Step 1) Go to the site coachingfilmhub.com, you'll read a fun introduction for who the site is for, then click "Click Here To Get Started". From there you'll a list of available departments including "coming soon". There's a technical reason why those are listed as "coming soon". Once you have clicked one of the "available departments" you will see a list of the different levels of that department including their definitions to give you a better insight.
Step 2) To learn about the job responsibilities per department, simply click on the "job responsibilities" and you will be directed to a form you can fill out which includes the list the job responsibilities. You can click on as many as you want, fill in your contact info and click "Connect To A Coach To Learn More". There is an option to go into more detail about anything else you want to learn more about.
Step 3) Once you have submitted a form, you will receive an email regarding sending e-transfers to a specific email for your chosen department. Once your payment has been received, I will send you and email of confirmation. At the same time I will be forwarding your email to the coach(s) so they know what you want to learn and we will work at scheduling a 1:1 1Hr Zoom Session. Scheduling will be based off the Coaches availability, because they're all currently working shows.
Please make sure your camera and audio are working! Technical issues happen like network connection issues, etc, just make sure everything is hooked up correctly for your own sake. And even though you're in the comfort of your own home, first impressions are important.
Heading #3: Insights from 12 Years On-Set, for Aspiring Creatives and Fans Alike
I've been working in Film & TV for 12 years; both in front and behind the camera as a Background Performer and Assistant Director. I became an Assistant Director back in 2021, but had I known now what I knew back in 2014 (when I was first pursuing AD work) I would've been an AD ten years ago.
I decided to a create platform to make navigating the industry easier for others pursuing career(s) in Film & TV. It's for everyone; whether you're figuring out which department is the right fit for you, or you're a fan of Film & TV and enjoy learning more about what goes on behind - the - scenes. The industry professionals I have attached are my own connections both unionized and non - union. All of the coaches genuinely enjoy teaching the next generation of filmmakers and sharing their skills that keeps them working from one production to the next.
